This unit came in with a common fault on this model. That is no power or rather, the semblance of having no power. As matter of fact, the unit was stuck on standby.

As with all repairs, the unit is first cleaned free of residue and dust. Next, the surface mount capacitors in the audio output circuit were replaced. This isn’t related to the specific fault, but these often cause intermittent faults. I replace them as standard on any Classik repair.

Next, the main problem with the power.  Fixing this involves replacing capacitors  in the power regulator circuit. Although other faults can be traced to the audio output stage on the +15 and -15 voltage rails.

As with all repairs, all cabinets and mains cables are fully cleaned with cables neatly tied. All products are carefully wrapped and labelled. Equipment is treated as if it were our own.
